Your booking is made on the basis that you accept that mountain biking involves risk and that you accept that risk on the basis that, although it cannot be eliminated completely, it will be managed by your guide in line with current best practice.

Equipment

  • If you are providing your own mountain bike it needs to be in a safe working order. If you are unsure if the bike is fit for purpose, please visit your local bike shop and ask for a service. When you arrive for the guided ride, your mountain bike guide will perform a Mountain Bike Safety Check. If they deem the bike unfit you will not be allowed to take part in the session.

  • If you are providing your own helmet it must be in good condition and within the manufacturer’s safe life span – typically 3-4 years.

Consent and medical information

A pre-ride Consent Form covering essential medical details, consent and next of kin will be required for each rider. This will be available via a link on the booking confirmation email. Completed forms, for all riders, are required by Cotswold Mountain Biking before the day of the ride. The form will only take a few minutes to fill-in.

Your booking is accepted on the basis that you provide accurate medical information, so Cotswold Mountain Biking can be best informed with regard to managing your safety.

Pictures, social media and marketing

Cotswold Mountain Biking would like to take photos and videos on the rides and use them for marketing purposes, this includes social media and website materials. You will be given the option to either OPT IN or OPT OUT on the Consent Form.

Booking & cancellation fees

Cotswold Mountain Biking reserves the right to cancel activities due to adverse weather conditions (e.g unsafe riding conditions) and other unforeseen circumstances (eg illness or injury to the guide). In such situations, Cotswold Mountain Biking will endeavour to re-schedule or refund 100% if you choose not to re-schedule.  

Cancellation fees – if you cancel your guided ride and an alternative date cannot be found

  • If you cancel your guided ride 8 days or more prior to the ride date = full booked price will be refunded

  • If you cancel your guided ride 7 days or less prior to the ride date = 100% of full booked price will be lost.

Other

Cotswold Mountain Biking does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings, or personal injury unless it is caused by negligence on the part of the guide(s).

The ride is insured in respect of legal liabilities (Public and third party liability) however, participants have no personal accident cover provided. It is the participants’ responsibility to arrange any personal accident insurance cover as they consider appropriate.
